HOUTSNEDE
EN Graphic campaign work for the exhibition HOUTSNEDE (Dutch for ‘woodcut’ ) – Frans Masereel in dialogue with Caroline Coolen, Tom Liekens & Camille Dufour . An initiative of the Heritage Department of the Provincial Centre for Cultural Heritage in Limburg and curators Herman Maes and Marc Milissen. This to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the passing of Frans Masereel (1889 – 1972), one of Belgians most important graphic artists of the twintieth century. Not only were Masereel’s unique woodcuts exhibited, so were these of the three contemporary artists involved who, like Masereel, apply the woodcut printmaking technique in their work.
I designed all graphic elaborations for this exhibition including an invitation with custom envelope, a flyer and poster, an exhibition booklet as well as an info panel which was to be seen at the start of the expo in the church of the Béguinage in Sint-Truiden (province of Limburg, BE).
